DINGLE ROAD renovation            "a brilliant rework of the original house" - Peter Terroux, Architect
Landry/Meagher

client criteria:

develop the interior of a previously added yet unfinished top level into a generously scaled bedroom for owners with en suite and walk through closet, laundry room, library and media room; re-develop main living level: entry, kitchen, home office and guest suite; introduce stairwell

design strategy:

create vertical space as light well (house sits on north facing slope in park-like setting with mature pines); kitchen relocated and enlarged to occupy centre of home with natural light advantages;  foyer, kitchen, formal dining, terrace, library and media room orient to new staircase and mezzanine.

testimonial:

"Bravo! Your house is a brilliant rework of the original house...I especially liked the handling of the double height space, the shower on the upper floor and the integration of the existing skylights into the upper hall and laundry room, and so very much else.

It is not easy to create a satisfying double height space with a small footprint, but yours is highly successful, I think, due to the proportions and placement of the windows.” - Peter Terroux, Architect (b.arch, m.arch, FRAIC)
